New fire regulations that come in to force in September 2006 are still not fully understood by many businesses in the UK.  Due the vast number of health and safety issues to take in to consideration during a fire risk assessment there is a high chance that mistakes will happen, in particular with the vast number of inexperienced people undertaking this function?

If you need to conduct a fire risk, assessment on your premises check that the assessor has not only fire experience but also health and safety trained. Failure to make this basic check could put you and your business at risk. So be warned just because some one may supply you fire extinguishers and basic fire training, it does not necessarily make them competent to undertake fire risk assessments.
